Sebastian Philpott, TRUMPET
Sebastian was born in Southend-on-Sea in 1987. He began his studies at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, aged 12, and was awarded the Constance Farringdon Brass Prize. He recently completed an undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music, and during his time there he took part in an ERASMUS exchange to the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. In September he commenced his studies for a master’s of art degree at the Royal Academy of Music, supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust. Sebastian has performed as principal trumpet in the Britten-Pears Baroque Orchestra and the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra. He has also taken part in the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s Experience scheme. Sebastian also performs as a commercial session player, playing for The Hoosiers, and has toured the UK, Europe and Japan. He can also be heard on the latest Comic Relief single, “Islands in the Stream”, alongside Tom Jones.
